Heather Schmitt, M.Ed. BCBA

Director

Heather started at Hopelight Behavioral Health in 2017 as a Behavior Analyst and became a BCBA in 2019. She has a Master’s degree in Special Education and a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Heather began working in special education in the year 2000 as a paraprofessional in a public school transition program where she found her calling in teaching, and went on to become an instructor with the same program. She has been blessed since that time to work with many children and adults with a variety of needs and abilities. Heather enjoys teaching people of all ages as well as working alongside their families in order to provide the best support possible.

Heather is a native of Colorado. Her favorite way to spend free time is being with her husband and two boys. She is also an active member at her church where she leads the special needs ministry and teaches children’s Bible classes. Heather is passionate about being involved as a parent at her children’s schools and has filled many different roles over the years at each of the schools her boys have attended. Professionally and personally, Heather loves being part of teams who spread positivity and light into the world.
